CHATEAU ORMES DE PEZ

Chateau Ormes de Pez, located in the Saint-Estephe appellation of Bordeaux, dates back to the beginning of the 16th century. Since the mid-1900s, the Chateau has been owned by the Cazes family, which owns other notable estates in Bordeaux, including Chateau Lynch Bages. The 40-hectare vineyard is planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, with Merlot constituting a larger proportion of the vineyard than is typical for this region. On average, the vines are 35 years old, and the wine is typically aged in 50% new, French oak barrels for around 15 months.
