FLEUR DE CALIFORNIA
Carneros Wine Company was founded in 1972 by trailblazing couple Francis and Kathy Mahoney in a modest winery nestled in a cool, windswept corner of Napa and Sonoma. They moved to Carneros well before it was considered a fine wine region and have been instrumental in shaping its emergence as a source of world class Burgundian-style wines. The Fleur de California brand was introduced in 1987 and was originally conceived as an approachable line for restaurants and wine stores. In the intervening years, under the practiced eye of experienced winemaker Ken Foster, the winery has upgraded the core Pinot Noir bottling to include more estate fruit and has broadened the product line to include a number of additional varietals. Today, it is CWC’s beast-known brand and is a showcase for nuanced wines featuring exuberant fresh fruit flavors.
