CHATEAU CALON
Chateau Calon is a 150 year old property, situated on the highest point in the up-and-coming Right Bank appellation of Montagne-Saint-Emilion. Owner Philippe Durand has been making impressive investments and improvements in the property over the past 15 years, with resulting significant improvements in the quality of the wines. The 25 acre contiguous vineyard sits atop limestone and clay soils and its western slope provides maximum sun exposure and excellent drainage. The vines average 45 years old, with individual merlot plots that are 80 and 140-years old.
