ANCIENT OAK CELLARS
Ancient Oak Cellars was founded in 2006 on land that had been owned for three generations by founder Ken Moholt-Siebert’s family. The winery is named for a century-old oak tree that sits on the 31 acre home vineyard, Siebert Ranch. This vineyard, which was originally planted by Ken’s grandfather in the 1950s, is located in Sonoma’s famed Russian River Valley, one of California’s premier spots for Burgundian varietals. Since 2014, Ancient Oak has been guided by famed winemaker Greg Lafollette who was the last protégé of Andre Tchelistcheff, the incomparable dean of American winemaking. Greg’s storied career includes highly successful stints at many of California’s premier Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers and he was instrumental to the early success of such renowned California wineries as La Crema, Hartford Court and Flowers. Ancient Oak strives to produce handmade wines of individuality and verve that reflect the extraordinary region that it calls home.
